November 2014

November!

A week ago, we sailed the first coldhanded race and became third. Last weekend we made a short trip and had a nice spinnaker sail back.

Koopmans 28 SQ

I tried the new Koopmans 28 from Didden Jachtbouw. This one has more sail and this time I also designed the keel. An easy to sail little yacht for daytrips along the shore. You can sit comfortably inside, make a meal and there are three berths.

15.5 m steel lift keel yacht

I just finished the pre-design for a 15.5 m steel lift keel yacht. I hope the final design will follow soon. This yacht has a lot of living space, but also big storage and even a garage for a dinghy. She will get double rudders and for manoeuvring also double engines, a bow prop and a stern prop.

Centreboard design No 490

Centreboard design No 490 is currently under construction at Folmer in Rijs. A heavy build ship that can go into arctic conditions.

No 205 refit

After 15 years the aluminium long keeled yacht Marakel will have a refit. She is based on Shetland and this is the first serious maintenance on her. She gets a bow trusther, and the dodger will be changed more ore less to the original design, but a bit longer. The cockpit and dodger will be painted and the seats and cockpit floor will be covered with marine deck cork.
