Jager

Our Jager is 30 years old and this is the first winter after 28 year that she is not sailing.

The teak in the cockpit was 8 mm when I built her but only 2mm was left.

The deck is made from marine plywood with 600 gr glass. The aft deck  had some bad spots where the pulpit was mounted. The teak is replaced with used teak removed from other boats.

Also the aft part of the cockpit floor need attention

I replaced both with marine plywood with mahogany toplayer. I used this for most of the deck. Covered with the 600 gr glass it is still in good condition.

The gearbox did not work properly so I decided to replace it for a new one. Then it appears that two engine mounts were damaged so these were replaced tooo.

Now that Jager was in a shed I also painted the hull.

She is back in the water so we can enjoy sailing again!

Design 534

Design 534 is in progress. The 3D model is growing with details Lloyds calculations are made and the first vpp gives good speed predictions.

Design 535

Design 535 is in the first stage.First I have to see what size we need for the given interior. Also the rig will be looked after. The owner wants two masts to reduce the sail area.To get the best out of it I have to see what the possible mast positions are and which sailplan then gives the best performance. Also the draft and keel geometrie is explored. Variable draft is handy but it needs to fit in the interior. Both wirth keel up and down I want to have a good sailing boat.Always nice to solve the puzzle. I hope to report the results next time.

Design 531

Design 531 is under construction at Paul Dijkstra composites. It is an interesting way to build a composite boat. First the foam is formed and brought in a mould. Then the inner skin is made with prepregmaterials. The bulkheads are placed, Deck is placed and then she comes out of the mould and the outer skin is put over. Within a few months she will be transported to Loedeman in Elburg.

532

532 is moved from Koopmans Kasko's to the waterfront. She will be made ready to launch and the owner will finish her berthed close to his house

523

Design 523 is launched. I measured weights and stability both for my own purpose and for CE certification Although 5%  too heavy which was expected because of the very nice interior all looks good and only.0.2degree trim forward. All give good guidance for the next one under construction.

 533

Design 533 is well under construction at Koopmans Kasko's.Being a sort of pilot cutter It looks very nice with lots of character. The owner who wants to live on her will get a lot more space than he now has on his Koopmans 40
